Help For The Unemployed

Since I know a few people who are currently looking for work, I thought that I would post this short video that is sure to help everyone in their job interviews.  If you question just how well it can help you, I have just two words for you: it’s Batman.  Are you saying that Batman cannot help you?  Because if you are, that’s just sad and you’re very, very wrong.

On an unrelated note, I know that our poor blog has been somewhat neglected for the past few weeks.  I’m seriously hoping to change that.  Since school has started up again though, I’m experiencing a serious time crunch.  The fact that I actually work at work isn’t helping either.  (I hate it when work gets in the way of my blogging.)  I have a few changes in store that will be explained when they happen so please keep coming back, or better yet, add us to your RSS feed so you can know when they happen.

Why Should You Subscribe?

Subscribing to The Zohner Family Blog makes it possible for  you to automatically receive a notification whenever we post something new. This makes things very convenient for you since you won’t have to visit our website if you want keep current on our various misadventures.

Subscribing to our site will also save you a lot of time and effort since all of our updates will be delivered for free directly to you giving you the option to read them at your leisure.

There are two main ways that you can subscribe to The Zohner Family Blog:

  1. RSS Feed Subscriptions – We’ll send new content to your feed reader.
  2. Email Subscriptions – We’ll send new content to your email address.

New Poll

I have posted a new poll. I want to know if my visitors are using the RSS features that I have incorporated into this site. You may have noticed the pretty buttons under “Subscribe” in the sidebar to the right. I know that a few people have made use of them but I’m curious as to how many people there are that I don’t know about.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about or how to make the best use of an RSS feed, here is some information from Wikipedia.

RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a “feed,” “web feed,” or “channel,” contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that’s easier than checking them manually.

Website Downtime

My website decided to take a nap for a few days. Some of you may have noticed, most of you probably did not. Of course sometimes I think that I’m the only one who reads this but that’s ok; I don’t need readers to feel special.

Basically what happened is that I was upgrading my version of WordPress and something on my server got buggered. Fortunately, I made a backup right before so I was able to get everything back up and running.

You may notice that there is a lack of pages in the sidebar. There’s a reason for that. I discovered that I wasn’t getting any mail from my contact form due to that particular feature being disabled on my server. I need to stop being a tight-wad and just pay for a premium membership. I think it’ll eventually happen because I really dislike this theme compared to others but I can’t make the good ones work right on a free webhosting account. I need to just open my wallet already.

A New Look

I’ve been wanting more interactivity with the website. I’ve decided to use WordPress so now you can post responses to our various blog entries. You can also click on one of the RSS links on the left to add this blog to your favorite RSS readers. That way, you’ll know when we update without having to check the site daily.

I’ve sacrificed a few things, most notably the gallery, for now but I hope to have it back up soon. Plus, I can edit this from anywhere so hopefully I’ll be able to find the time to post more frequently.
