My boss told me to watch this video. I thought that it was so funny that I decided to share it with you, my esteemed reader.

I have a lot of things running through my mind right now that I’d like to share. Since school started last night, I’ll start with that.
This semester will be my last before I can graduate with an Associates degree. After that, I’ll only have a handful of classes left before I get a Bachelors degree. It’s nice to see the end of the very, very long tunnel that I’ve been cruising through. The ten year plan is getting old. It’ll be nice to finally finish.
Now for some of my thoughts about stories that have been in the headlines over the last few days…
The Golden Globes award show has been canceled due to the writers strike. While I’m very upset about not being able to watch 24 or new episodes of The Office, I have to say thank you to the writers for this one. I get so tired of celebrities and their own sense of self-importance. They have award shows to congratulate themselves on achievements that nobody but their own care about. Unless there’s a hobbit or a wookiee getting awards, I really don’t care.
I’ve been wanting to post a new blog for a bit but haven’t really had the chance. Work has been very busy and I haven’t been getting on the computer when I get home at night. As I was driving home tonight from work, I was thinking about what I would write about. I really had no idea.
On the radio, they were discussing how Brittney Spears’ little sister is pregnant. (Way to go Brittney’s mom! I love how you’ve let your kids go to crap.) I could post about that but the jokes come too easily and I would probably get mean. My general dislike for celebrity and the fascination that America has with it would make for a funny but not very nice blog.
Yes, I know that I have been slacking on my blog lately. I noticed that when I started working at Harmons, I developed a severe case of writers block that I can’t seem to shake. I’m not sure why. Since I can’t think of anything witty or interesting to post today, I thought I’d show one of my favorite YouTube clips ever: Boots of Escaping. It’s a clip from Reno 911 that makes me giggle every time that I watch it. Very, very funny stuff. Enjoy.
I was going to write about school tonight. I’ve been having some serious mis-adventures in my Java class that may prove humorous to my readers but then my cousin said he wanted to read my thoughts on the Hollywood writers strike. I do have some thoughts on this so I figured that my Java shame can wait for another day. Tonight, it’s all about the writer’s strike, baby!
For those who are unaware, all of your television viewing pleasure is about to come to a screeching halt. With nearly every television series that is produced being released on DVD, writers are understandably upset that the studios are making all sorts of money twice off of work that that the writers were only paid for doing once. The studios obviously don’t want to give up that revenue since nobody ever wants to give up money.

Last night, Holly and I finally went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It’s about time. We’ve only been trying to go see this since it came out over a month ago…
I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews regarding the latest installment in the Harry Potter series. It seems as though people either loved it or hated it. Depending on who you talk to, this is either the best of the films or the worst. I can see why there are such mixed feelings about it. There was a lot of dialog and not a lot of action. This is pretty different from The Goblet of Fire where there was a ton of action and not a lot of long dialog scenes. The cinematography and t a new director also gave the movie a different feeling the the others in the series. Also, when compared to other films that have come out this summer like Live Free, Die Hard and Transformers, I can see how Order of the Phoenix could be considered a bit dull.
I often wonder what television executives are thinking when they make programming decisions. I look at some of the shows that actually receive a time slot in a networks lineup and stand amazed. There’s so much crap out there and it seems like so many good shows don’t even get a fair chance.
I’ve already chronicled the tales of Jericho in this blog. For those unfamiliar with that situation, basically CBS killed Jericho after the first season. After receiving 25 tons of peanuts in protest from fans, they realized that they made a huge mistake and agreed to bring it back. It’s funny though because even though CBS says that they’ll do what it takes to make the show successful, they’re also sending a lot of mixed messages to the fans. It’ll be interesting to see how it all shakes out and if the Jericho Rangers get a third season.
Tonight is the night that Jericho makes its triumphant return to the airwaves. After receiving 25 tons of nuts, CBS executives finally gave the fans what they wanted and will be airing seven new episodes, most likely in the fall as a replacement for a failed reality show.
Even though tonight’s episode is not new, it is very important that people tune in. If you haven’t seen the show before, now is the perfect time to become addicted. The first episode will air tonight. Next week a recap episode will air then the following week, the episodes that aired after the near fatal hiatus will be shown. This is an attempt to get fans who left the show caught up with what’s going on. It is also so new fans can tune in and see why this was the fastest un-cancellation in television history.

Yesterday, in an effort to escape the scorching heat experienced at the Kaysville City parade, Holly and I took the kids to the movies. If you didn’t guess either by the article title or the picture of the movie poster, we saw Ratatouille. Since I have some nice WordPress plug-ins that don’t get used nearly enough, I’m going to use one of them now and tell you what I thought of the movie.
I’m calling in sick today. Last night I was doing homework for hours and hours. My vision started going funky and all of a sudden… BAM! Migraine. I hate headaches… I called in sick to work and I’m calling in sick to my blog. Since I don’t want to write anything, here is a clip of a very funny comedian from Last Comic Standing named Gerry Dee.
