UNOFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
For those who have not heard yet, my sister, Chelsea, is engaged. Since it’s not my wedding, I’ve been spared from having to do too many things. One thing that I did volunteer for though is making a DVD slideshow of Chelsea and her love interest, Nick. I get to choose what pictures and music are used. Can you say “bathtub pictures”? It’s going to be fun.
On Sunday, I started going through stacks of old pictures deciding which ones I was going to use. As I was looking through Chelsea’s scrapbook, I found pictures of my graduation, when I went on my mission, our mom at an Amway convention, and my first Christmas with Holly. It was like taking a trip down memory lane.
As I was strolling down said lane however, I started to get a little sad because I don’t have a lot of pictures of myself or our family. When I go into people’s homes, there are always lots of pictures of their family on the walls. These compliment all of the photo albums on their bookshelves very nicely. I want that so I’ve decided that I need to start trying to be better about picture taking.
To go along with my goal of taking more pictures of the family, I’ve decided that I need to post more pictures on the website. To be able to do this, I think I need a better way of displaying them than what I’m currently using. Right now I’m using Coppermine to power our gallery. I think that I want something different but I’m not sure what would be good. Any suggestions?

I am actually looking for a product to manage pictures as well. I have tried gallery and I don’t like it. It’s complicated and ugly. Flickr is an alright solution. I think I am leaning towards more integration with Wordpress. We need to get a dialog going on this so that we can work together to make less work for both of us.
Josh, I agree. I’ve looked at Flickr and there are lots of WordPress plugins for it but I’m not sure that I want to go that route. I guess I need to do some homework and figure out what other people are using and see what I like.

Actually, I’ll see if I can get more information from her for you. I’m a guy so I obviously won’t do a good job telling you who he is. To me, he’s Chelsea’s boyfriend. I’m sure that you’re looking for more than that.

He went on a mission to Cleveland Ohio, works as a machinist in Salt Lake, and is planning on pursuing a career in engineering with the ultimate goal of a Masters in Robotics. How’s that? Anything else you’d like to know?
