How Do You Like Them Apples?

We like fresh fruit in our house.  Bananas will usually disappear within hours of being purchased.   Grapes go rather quickly as well.  Apples, on the other hand, only sort of disappear.

On Saturday I bought five Gala apples.  They are most delicious.  I took one with my lunch yesterday, leaving four apples for another time.  When I was in the kitchen this morning, I noticed that only two apples remained in the fruit bowl. Each of these had multiple bites taken from them.  Then I went to the computer and found two more apples.  These also had multiple bites taken from them.

Hannah loves apples.  She just doesn’t love them enough to take more than five or six bites out of one.  After working an apple over for a few minutes, she’ll set it aside.  Fifteen minutes later though she usually gets a hankering for more apple.  Does she return to her apple that she was previously eating?  Nope.  She gets a new one.  Thus begins the horrible cycle of sorta-eaten apples.

I’m not too concerned with the fact that Hannah only eats half of an apple at a time.  The thing that bothers me is that she doesn’t dispose if it when she’s done.  She just puts it wherever she fit.  This is usually someplace that is not extremely visible.  Some people might say that she’s hiding them.  This leads to me finding dried up apples a week later that have been bitten six times.  I don’t care how much you like them, you don’t want to find a week old, half-eaten apple that’s been hiding under the couch for a week.
