6 0 Days Since Last Accident
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m finishing our basement. I have the building permit and construction has started.
Last Saturday, my friends, Garth and John came over to help. We were able to get quite a bit of the framing done. Holly assumed that I just sat around watching everybody else work since I’m not known for my hammer-smith skills but I actually did a lot. Nearly every stud that was put in place was cut by me. I also helped place and measure the walls. I was working and having fun doing so. It was an accident-free evening full of sawdust and loud noises.
Last night the guys came over again. We hoped to finish framing the bedroom and bathroom. We got the bedroom done but that was it. At about 9:30, Garth shot the nail gun into a stud but missed the board. He did manage to hit his thumb though. I heard him shout out and looked over to see a nail sticking out of the top of his thumb. I was ready to take him to the hospital but he just wanted a band aid. He pulled the nail out, bled on the floor, and stuck the bandage on then went back to work. We worked for another half hour or so then called it a night.
I have a few thoughts on the events of last night. First: Garth is hardcore. If I nailed my thumb with a nail gun, I’d call it a night. Not Garth. He apparently didn’t have time to bleed and went back to work. That’s cool. Second: Seeing a nail sticking out of a thumb is pretty disturbing. It wasn’t a “serious” injury but it’s not something that I’m accustomed to seeing. Finally: Garth, if you read this, please don’t sue me for getting hurt on my job site. Remember when I bought you Famous Dave’s? Let’s call it even.

I want pictures! How can I believe it without pictures? Let me know if you need advice for your home theater.
I was thinking that I need to get some pictures of the process. I’ll work on that. As for the home theater, I’ve already got it mapped out. It’ll have 6 speakers, 3 in front, 3 in back, and a nice sub-woofer. I plan on making the sub-woofer myself and using it for an end table. I I run into any questions though, I’ll be sure to hit you up, Josh. Thanks!
Garth sounds like a stud. But lets be honest here. If you weren’t around, I bet he would have cried like a little girl. I don’t know him, but I know how men are.
