I have a dilemma. I’m apparently very loved at Unisys. Ever since I gave notice that Friday would be my last day, I have been approached by everybody from team leads to supervisors to the manager of the call center asking me to stay, even if it’s only for a few hours a week.
I was talking to Holly and she thinks that it’s a good idea. I can go to work before going to work. This way, I’ll end up missing the morning commute. Plus the money that I’ll earn will be nice. My supervisor has told me that I can set my start time as late as reasonable so that I can keep my third-shift differential pay. She’s also told me that she’ll basically let me pick what days I work. I think that I can get away with doing as few as two days per week for a total of about 5 hours.
The plan isn’t without it’s problems though. I potentially could end up working 13+ hours a day and then have to go to school in the evening. I’m already tired enough from lack of sleep. Plus, I feel like with Holly in nursing school, I should try to focus on my family as much as I can since she’s so busy. Having to get up earlier would make this a bit more difficult but not impossible.
Do I really want to put myself through the stresses of two jobs and school in addition to my responsibilities at home or do I want to quit Unisys and focus on the other things? I’m not sure.
