I have a few vacation days at Unisys that I’d like to use before I quit next week. I decided to take one of them today and get my new-hire orientation at Harmon’s out of the way.
It was pretty much the standard orientation: lots of paperwork, meeting new people, and learning the policies and procedures. I also realized that I’ll be supporting everyone in the company from the CEO to the various stores. This includes the guys who make the commercials, Bob and Randy Harmon. I also learned that they have an executive chef who has a kitchen in the building that I’ll be primarily working in. The smells from the kitchen made my stomach growl. That’ll be a floor to spend some time on…
I’m so excited to start my new job in a week. When I go into work at Unisys, it’s as if time is standing still. I would love to be able to bend the time-space continuum, but this isn’t what I had in mind. Stopping the clock while life goes on at a job that I have already quit is excruciating. It’s kinda like Christmas Eve when you’re a kid; you can’t sleep yet the sun never rises welcoming Christmas morning.
I keep thinking that I need to write a tell-all post for the blog once I’m gone. Maybe I should start working on it now during the down-time at work…
