I’ve been holding off on posting this news until we were sure of it, but it appears as though we are going to have a new addition to our household. YAY!
As you may or may not know, my mom moved to the Denver suburbs the day after my sister, Chelsea graduated high school. Chelsea had originally planned on pursuing a nursing degree from Weber State University in Ogden but when my mom quit her job and took a position with my uncle’s accounting firm in Colorado, she was forced to make new plans.
Both Chelsea and my mom thought that she would attend either BYU Idaho or the local community college in Denver but with difficulty finding a job there, her options were becoming limited. Holly suggested that Chelsea come and live with us. That way she could attend Weber which is what she wanted to do in the first place. Plus, she would have some semblance of independence and see what it’s like to live away from home while still having somebody there to make sure that things don’t get too far out of control. I agreed that it was a great idea and proposed the idea to Chelsea and my mom. It was apparently a really good idea because beginning tomorrow we’ll have a new resident in our home. (That’s why I married Holly; she has awesome ideas.)
I think that Chelsea is going to try and get her old job at Taco Time back until she can find something more in the medical field like a CNA position at a nursing home. If you know of anything that’s available and close to Layton or Syracuse, maybe even Ogden, let us know.
She’ll also be attending school full-time this fall at Weber so it looks like her original plans are all coming to fruition. Granted, she’ll have to live with us which probably won’t be easy but she’ll have free tech support from me and I’m sure that the kids will keep her highly entertained. Plus I know that Holly is excited for her to come as she has missed her company and friendship during the two months spent in Colorado.
So with that said, welcome, Chelsea! Drive safely tomorrow through the badlands known as Wyoming and remember not to get caught bringing any fireworks across the border. You know how I like explosives… ![]()
