Good News, Bad News

First the good news. Holly got a new job. She still works for IHC but will now be working in labor and delivery as a CNA. As I understand it, she’ll be cleaning up after babies are born as well as helping clean the babies themselves up, weighing them, etc. She is very excited.

I also have a new job prospect. Funny since I’m not really looking. I was called this morning by a company in New York representing Goldman Sachs, a full-service global investment banking and securities firm. They want my computer skills. They seemed interested in me and appear willing to pay me a lot more than I’m currently making but they can only guarantee that the job will last for six months. They did say that they have a guy on the job who’s been there for a year and a half that was only guaranteed six months though. It could work out. We’ll see.

Now for the bad news. I went to the doctor today and was told that I have to stay home from work for at least one more week. My throat is healing but it’s taking a long time. I’m not sure if Holly is happy or upset about the news. I get the feeling that she’s tired of me cramping her style by hanging out at the house all day.

Also, I’ve tried adding a new feature showcasing the books that I’m currently reading but I can’t seem to get Roblog’s Now Reading plugin to work. Every time that I activate it, it kills my webiste. I’m also having difficulties with posting. I have lost my visual editor toolbar. I’ve done a lot of research on this and it appears that I’m out of luck. I think that it’s a bug with this version of WordPress. Hopefully it will be resolved in a later release.
