I am officially annoyed by our local radio stations here in Salt Lake. I primarily listen to one of four country stations and I guarantee that at any given moment, at least one of them is playing a song by either Tim McGraw, Kenney Chesney, or Rascal Flats. Occasionally, Keith Urban will get thrown in just to keep up the variety. It drives me crazy! OK. I understand that these guys are the “hot” artists of today but how is it even possible to claim that you play the “most variety” when you play one of three artists? Is it because you play all three plus Keith Urban as opposed to the other stations who only play the three? Also, how is it possible that you play the most music when you play two or thee songs at most without a commerical break? Then you try to sell me on how good your station is before you play five minutes of commercials? That makes no sense to me.
Don’t even get me started on the dee-jays on a certain station that I won’t mention *cough* K-Bull *cough*. Being spontaneous should not sound rehearsed. I’m sorry Johnson and Johnson but you guys are not funny.
People wonder why I listen to a lot of talk radio. It’s mostly because I am growing to despise music radio. thank goodness for classic country and classic rock stations for without them I would be forced to listen to the inane whining and popification of today?s country music radio.
