I screwed up today big time. Emma came home from school and asked me why I didn’t come to her school to have a donut with her. The school puts on an event where dads get to come and eat donuts with the kids. Emma was so excited for it and so was I. The problem is that, although it was on our calendar, it was written very lightly in pencil and was tough to see. I completely forgot about it. I felt horrible! I made it up to her though by taking her out for donuts this afternoon. She said that it was better than what we would have done at school because we could “have what we want.” In the end, she was very pleased with the situation which makes me happy.
